Considering Their Stories
BRINGING HISTORY TO LIFE
Let our certified storytellers take your students on a journey through history with testimony-based Holocaust stories. Whether your class is just beginning to explore this chapter of history or has some prior knowledge, our storytellers will enrich their understanding and interest in the Holocaust.
Programs can be for individual classes or larger assemblies. In a program, students will hear two to three Holocaust stories. After each story, students have a chance to ask questions and consider what they have learned.
Working with Testimony
EXPLORING LIVING HISTORY
Give your students a chance to explore recorded survivor testimony. This engaging program begins with a journey through history with a testimony-based Holocaust story. The students then have the chance to explore recorded testimony themselves using the USC Shoah Foundation’s iWitness database curated clips.
This program takes a single 60 to 90 minute class period.
Learning Their Testimony
GIVING VOICE TO TESTIMONY
A 2-part workshop to guide students in giving a voice to written or recorded Holocaust testimony.
Students will
- Engage with written Holocaust testimonies to understand their significance.
- Reflect on the diverse experiences and perspectives represented in the testimonies.
- Select a testimony to retell, guided by personal connection and interest.
- Learn basic storytelling techniques.
- Work in partners to to craft a story from their chosen testimony through peer collaboration and positive feedback.
- Share their stories with the class.

An engaging 90-minutes of storytelling and discussion with a seasoned storyteller.
- Learn about the storyteller’s creative process as our featured guest reveals their creative process, providing insights into the art of storytelling.

A 30-minute workshop of telling testimony-based Holocaust stories can be added.

Your featured storyteller will share the story of someone who experienced the Holocaust. This could be a survivor, a victim, a rescuer, or even a liberator.Â
A guided discussion will follow. Discussion topics are chosen in advance in collaboration between the storyteller and the program host.

A unique 2-hour experience that intertwines a Challah-taking and baking ceremony with moving Holocaust narratives and guided discussions.

- Receive professional coaching and peer review.

- Finish class with a 10-minute Holocaust story ready to share.
